HUGE SUPPORT FOR FINE FOOD PERTH
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 25 May 2005
The new Fine Food Perth exhibition has proved an immediate success, with a large number of local and interstate suppliers already confirmed. This guarantees that the show will be the biggest food and hospitality tradeshow to be staged in Western Australia.
According to Exhibition Director Timothy Collett “it was important that we delivered an impressive show the first time around. Fortunately the response has been immediate and overwhelmingly positive. Perth is a growth market and is clearly ripe for this event”.
Fine Food Perth will run from 9-11 October at the new Perth Convention Centre. It is expected to attract around 150 exhibitors and 4000 trade buyers. Like its bigger brother in Sydney it will feature a full range of food, wine and equipment. Buyers are expected to come from the retail, foodservice and hospitality sectors.
Companies booked into the food section include well known brands such as Simplot, McCains, Goodman Fielder, Dairy Farmers, Luv-a-Duck, Bidvest and Sandhurst. Local identities include PB Foods, New Norcia, Fremantle Octopus, Canon Foods, Jingilli, MG Kailis and Worldwide Fine Foods.
Companies booked into the equipment section represent all the major suppliers and product categories – from the kitchen to the table to the guestroom. Companies will include Moffat, Stoddart, Curtin, Lennard, Lenny’s, Hisco, IMI Cornelius, Two Clix, Palmteq and Lombards.
One of the great features of the event is that it pulls together a number of industry associations and exhibitions that previously ran separately. This means that the show offers exhibitors and visitors a larger and more efficient place to meet.
The popular WA Oceanafest will run within the show. This is the only chef competition in Australia that is formally recognised by the World Association of Cooks. It will feature seven kitchens, three restaurants and hundreds of qualified competitors.
The Wine Industry Association of WA will be running their wine showcase within Fine Food. This means that buyers can sample a wide range of wines and speak to the producers directly about their special needs. This is a great opportunity for restaurants and hotels to build a profitable wine list.
The Catering Institute of Australia have confirmed that they will be staging the Gold Plate Awards on the second night of the show. This prestigious event attracts around 900 restaurateurs and food producers. It gives regional business people a great reason to travel to Perth for a few days.
A small number of stands are still available in the show. Companies looking to exhibit should call the organisers on 03 9261 4500 or visit the website at www.foodperth.com.au. Retail and foodservice buyers can also visit the website for free visitor registration.
