CONVENIENCE WORLD STOCKED WITH IDEAS

Convenience World moves to Sydney this year following its overwhelming success in Melbourne and will be bigger and better, according to organisers Australian Exhibition Services.
Convenience World is the annual event for the convenience store industries comprising a dedicated expo and conference staged within Fine Food, Australia’s largest exhibition for the food industry.
The show has serious industry support with David Killeen from the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores saying, “Convenience World at Fine Food has our full backing. Our members are looking to expand their businesses and we see this as the ideal forum for suppliers and operators to build profitable relationships.”
Convenience World has a record 44 exhibitors including AFB Storage Solutions, Checkpoint Meto Australia, Detpak, Elgas Swap’n go, Epson Australia, Miller Red, Mrs Mac’s, Quicken Software, Radiant Systems,The Perfect Fry Company, Unilever Foods, Wanzl Australia and Xccessories Australia.They will be showcasing the latest retail technology, grocery products, impulse products, merchandising ideas and more.
A range of special events organised by AACS will run within Convenience World. These include the following five free workshops:
- “Health in Convenience” presented by the Associate Board
- “How the World’s Best C-Store Operators Utilise Retail Technologies” presented by Radiant Systems
- “Are you prepared for the changes in Tobacco Legislation” presented by British American Tobacco, Imperial Tobacco and Philip Morris
- “The Canadian Convenience Store Market” presented by Howard McIntyre of Petro Canada
- “The Status of the USA Convenience Market” presented by Hank Armour, President of NACS
AACS will also stage their annual gala dinner, scholarship awards and field trips during the show.
A visit to Convenience World is even more valuable because it is held within the huge Fine Food exhibition, which has over 900 exhibitors. Visitors will discover hundreds of new retail food products on show.
“It really is the ultimate event for c-stores, milk bars and service stations – in fact, any retailer in the food and drink market,” said Exhibition Director, Timothy Collett.
Other events running concurrently at the show include Bakeskills, The Official Great Aussie Meat Pie competition, Sydney Culinary Challenge, Best of The Best Pizza Competition and much, much, more.
Fine Food, incorporating Convenience World and the AACS Convention will run at the Sydney Exhibition Centre from 12 –15 September 2005. Opening hours are Monday 10am – 6pm, Tuesday 12noon - 9pm (late night), Wednesday 10am – 5pm and Thursday 10am – 5 pm.
