CONVENIENCE WORLD STOCKED WITH IDEAS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

13 Jul 2004

Convenience World moves to Melbourne this year following its overwhelming success in Sydney and will be bigger and better, according to organisers Australian Exhibition Services.

Convenience World is the annual event for the convenience store industries. It is a dedicated expo and conference staged within Fine Food, Australia’s largest exhibition for the food industry.

The show has serious industry support with Peter Jowett from the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores saying “Convenience World at Fine Food has our full backing. Our members are looking to expand their businesses and we see this as the ideal forum for suppliers and operators to build profitable relationships.”

Convenience World has over 30 exhibitors including ATM Solutions, Brice, Detpak, Epson, Impulse Retailing, Liberty Oil, Miller Red, Music Stop, Mills Display, Pacific Optics, Quicken Software and St George Bank. They will be showcasing the latest retail technology, grocery, impulse products, merchandising ideas and more.

A range of special events organised by AACS will run within Convenience World. These include free workshops with presentations from Angus Oughtred, Chairman of Association of Convenience Stores (UK), Andrew and Stephen Jempson of Jempson’s Food Stores (UK) and Bill Douglass, Chairman of NACS (USA).

AACS will also stage their annual gala dinner, scholarship awards and field trips during the show.

A visit to Convenience World is even more valuable because it is held within the huge Fine Food exhibition, which has over 700 exhibitors. Visitors will discover hundreds of new retail food products on show. Big names include Baiada, Kraft Foods, Nestle, Sanitarium, San Pellegrino, Unilever, and more.

“It really is the ultimate event for c-stores, milk bars and service stations – in fact any retailer in the food and drink market,” said Exhibition Director, Timothy Collett.

Other events running concurrently at the show include Bakeskills, Official Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition, Melbourne Culinary Challenge, Best of The Best Pizza Competition, Masters of Australian Food and Wine, and much, much, more.

Fine Food, incorporating Convenience World and the AACS Convention will run at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 6-9 September 2004. Opening hours are Monday 10–6, Tuesday 12-9, Wednesday 10–5pm and Thursday 10–5 pm.

Entry is restricted to persons working in the retail and hospitality sectors. Persons not in these categories including children will not be admitted. Visitors can obtain further details and register at www.finefoodexpo.com.au
